Cleaner, greener cars now available

Since our 2004 victory, automakers have been required to produce more clean, advanced technology cars for sale in New Jersey. In 2010, after other states adopted similar programs, President Obama extended the program nationwide.

Protecting the Jersey Shore and Barnegat Bay

Beaches from Cape May to Ocean City will have less of the fertilizer and runoff pollution that can contribute to Jersey Shore beach closings and Barnegat Bay algae blooms, thanks to two new laws that we helped get enacted.

$400 Million to Preserve Open Spaces.

 Whether it's the forests of the Highlands, the wildlife areas by the Shore, or that leafy green park on the edge of town, New Jersey's open spaces make our state special. In 2009, we helped convince voters to approve $400 million in funding for open space preservation, ensuring that these special places will be protected for years to come.  In fact, over the last decade, we’ve helped to win one billion for open space preservation and parks.

15,000 Voices Raised for RGGI.

Already more than 15,000 New Jerseyans have sent comments to state leaders opposing Gov. Christie's decision to withdraw from RGGI. More than a hundred others joined us for rallies across the state.

New Clean Car Standards

In 2011, President Obama announced the outline of new clean car standards covering cars and light trucks through 2025, which will amount to the single biggest step this country has ever taken to end our addiction to oil and tackle global warming.
