A majority of New Jersey's state senators and state assembly members earned average grades for their environmental records, according to the biannual Legislative Scorecard on major environmental issues distributed by Environment New Jersey in 2008.
The scorecards rank 35 state senators and 53 state assembly members who served in the 212th Legislative session. The average grade was 75%. Eight legislators aced their environmental scorecards with perfect 100% scores.
The bipartisan group included Sen. Loretta Weinberg and Sen. Andrew Ciesla and Asw. Linda Greenstein, Asm. Reed Gusciora, Asm. Paul Moriarty, Asw. Valeria Vainieri Huttle, Asw. Joan Voss and Asm. Tom Giblin. With a score of 11%, Asm. Michael Patrick Carroll had the lowest score out of the group of 88 legislators.
