Wind Power for New Jersey

New Jersey has the potential to make clean energy history with offshore wind. Two areas off the coast are close to becoming the sites of clean offshore wind, and New Jersy is fast on its way to becoming one of the first states to develop offshore wind. But the future of wind power in New Jersey is at risk if Gov. Chris Christie does not act now.

Program

Stop the Clean Air Rollback

Gov. Christie wants to kill a regional program that reduces pollution from power plants, makes the polluters pay, and uses the funds for clean energy. We're calling on our legislators at the State House to block the governor's move.

Program

Save the Delaware From Drilling

Powerful gas industry lobbyists and their allies in Trenton are pushing through policies that would expose the Delaware River, and all our landscapes, to the dangers of gas drilling. But they've got a fight on their hands — thousands of New Jerseyans are joining our call to help stop gas drilling from contaminating our drinking water, polluting our air, destroying beautiful land and threatening our health.

Program

Protect the Jersey Shore

We should be doing everything we can to protect the Jersey Shore. But hundreds of streams and marshes along the Shore are threatened by pollution, with 245 beach closings and advisories in 2012 alone.

Program

Global Warming Solutions

On June 2, 2014, the EPA proposed a Clean Power Plan that sets targets for states to reduce carbon from power plants by investing in renewable energy and energy efficiency, cleaning up existing power plants, and switching to cleaner fuels. Together with our national federation, we've launched a campaign to reach 1 million Americans about the consequences of global warming and the impact President Obama’s Clean Power Plan will have on our children’s future.

Program

Get New Jersey Off Oil

The environmental costs of our oil dependence are out of control — from the accidents and spills, to smog, to climate change. It's time to set this country on a path to getting off oil for good. We can get there by convincing our leaders to make new investments in fuel-efficient cars, new technology, and a first-class system of public transportation.

Don’t let fracking waste New Jersey

Just as the Delaware and New Jersey's other rivers are coming back from decades of pollution, drilling companies are looking to dump toxic fracking waste in New Jersey, putting our waters at risk. A ban on fracking waste could protect our rivers.
